The Wakouwa line, from revered Japanese label Anatomica, pays homage to sailing culture through both a European and Japanese lens, and is meticulously based on founder Pierre Fourniers adaptation of vintage US navy deck shoes.
Featuring a vulcanised rubber sole and canvas upper made in America, this deck shoe provides superlative comfort, added arch support, and asymmetric curved sole, something usually reserved for orthopaedic footwear.
In place of a sewn canvas upper, the rubber soles are crimped to provide a more comfortable fit akin to bare feet, and feature the plimsoll line - ubiquitous with sailing footwear.
